I’ll be doing some live drawing next week at Swarm Gallery as part of the current John Casey solo show. Here’s the details:
Please join us on Wednesday, 11/2/11, 6-9pm, for an evening of live drawing, good food (El TacoBike!!) and beer at Swarm Gallery in Oakland. John Casey hosts 24 local artists who have collaborated in his Hands & Pants project currently on display at Swarm through 11/6/11. Artists will be drawing live and art made that night will be available for sale. Bring cash because you can buy drawings directly from the artists. This is a perfect opportunity to purchase some affordable art from some of the best creative drawerers the Bay Area has to offer. Also, John and Mary Kalin-Casey’s “Call & Response” book will be available for sale. Ah, jeeze, John will also be “DJ-ing” with his iPod. The fun happens between 6-9pm. Come on by, watch artists draw, Be subjected to John’s musical tastes, drink a beer or two, and eat a taco or two with John Casey & Friends!
My collaborative piece with John Casey as part of his Tall Tales exhibition going on at Swarm Gallery in Oakland which runs through November 6th.
I wish that someone would compile a photo essay of all the different iterations of the BART map. There’s something commendable in the design, but I’d love to see how it has been tweaked over the years.
Checking back in with the work of Val Britton, loved seeing the pieces like the one above. I own one of this series, it’s quite lovely.
Also really excited about the 2 person show of works by Dan Grayber and Alex Case. The piece above is one of Dan’s, who I had the pleasure of meeting a while back. The show opens on Feb 4th at Johansson Projects in Oakland.
Come by Levende in Oakland (827 Washington Street) from 4-7pm today (Wednesday Nov 24th) for a live drawing session with some amazing other artists. Roster includes:Steelee Faltis, Sarah Filley, Elliot Fredericksen, Scott Greenwalt, Freya Prowe, Alison Tharp, Jon Carling, and myself.
Detail shot of a drawing I’ve got in an upcoming show at the Macarthur B Arthur gallery in Oakland, opening Oct 1st. This is one half of a pair that will be hung from my Magnolia series.
